Description
Classic 720g tin of tomato purée, with a delicate yet rustic flavour that is ideal for making pasta sauces, baked dishes, pizzas, panzerotti, and more.
The tomatoes are harvested from the field when ripe, and within 48 hours of harvesting, the produce is sorted and thoroughly washed. They are placed in cooking pots and cooked for about 1 hour; once cooked, the excess water is drained off. The excess seeds are removed from the tomatoes. The product is strained and salted, then filled into airtight glass jars that have been previously sterilised and thoroughly dried. The filled jars are pasteurised at a temperature of 85°C for 15 minutes. They are then left to cool in water and finally stored in a cool, dimly lit place.
